Kinstedt house

Nehalem, Oregon 2010

2,200sf private residence

The Kinstedt house embraces the client’s desire for a cozy, personalized home that responds to the environment. Located along a beautiful farm valley near the Oregon coast, it balances dramatic views from every room with climate-appropriate architectural features.  Wide eaves shed the constant rain, while R23 walls and a heat recovery ventilation system conserve the warmth generated by the masonry heater fireplace and radiant slate floor. The fit and finish is one of reserved quality: vertical grained fir trim, casework, and built-in seating invite you to sit and read, or just watch the rain fall slowly on the fields below.
